COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND FUNDRAISERS

12 Days of Christmas Benefits Surrounding Communities

The Beta Sole Foundation has concluded a new holiday event titled 12 Days of Christmas. During the event, the organization created 12 different events that aided a different part of the community.

Some events included "Santa Paws" (pictured), where the Foundation donated supplies to the Humane Animal Treatment Society and sponsored a dog adoption including 6 months' worth of supplies and "Sleigh Parkinson's," where the Foundation partnered with Rock Steady Boxing to create Christmas activities for those who suffer from Parkinson's.

The Beta Sole Foundation documented their 12 Days of Christmas journey on Tik Tok, where each event was highlighted in their own video. You can find the Foundation's Tik Tok here:

Beta Sole Supports Scholars at CMU's New Venture Challenge

The Beta Sole Foundation would like to take the time to recognize one of our Summer Scholars, Ali Dabas, and his outstanding achievements over the weekend!

Here is his statement on his time:

“I was fortunate to participate in this year’s New Venture Challenge hosted by Central Michigan University. It was a great opportunity to network with entrepreneurs, like-minded people, and investors that are passionate about innovations that will create a brighter future. I would like to thank Julie Messing and the leadership of CMU for hosting this event and providing the platform to showcase and improve our ideas as well as launchpad resources. I would also like to thank the #Huskeyinnovate team for the mentorship and guidance throughout the competition.

Congratulations to the fellow Michigan Tech participants: Jakob Christiansen, Bayle Golden, Rourke Sylvain, and Jordan Craven for crushing it! I’m looking forward to seeing all their ideas come to fruition and leave a positive impact on the world.”

Elf Holiday Celebration - 2021

Our third annual Elf Event will help to provide low-income families throughout our local communities with the unforgettable holiday celebration every child deserves. Each year we provide gifts to each attendee based on their personal wish-lists we receive from parents prior to the event as well as a buffet and snacks. We will be hosting fun holiday activities such as ornament crafting, educational games, photos with Santa, a Christmas scavenger hunt, and much more! This year we’ve also decided to kick up the fun a notch and host it at a venue with an indoor waterpark and arcade.

The event has been very successful in the past and often brings diverse groups together, culturally expanding students' perspectives, while sharing in a common season. This Elf Event is especially important because Christmas joy may not be found at home for these children and their families, but they know where they can look forward to finding it every year.

Beta Sole Supports Educational Retreat

Beta Sole Foundation was delighted to help send a local student, Emmah Coker, on an educational retreat for college students.

Here is her statement on her time:

“This past weekend I was given the opportunity to attend the Fall College Retreat put on by Young America’s Foundation (YAF) in Santa Barbara, California. YAF hosted the following speakers: Governor Scott Walker, Elisha Krauss, Larry O’Connor, Ying Ma, Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Jason Mattera, Larry Elder, Michael Reagan, and Mark Joseph. It was an incredible weekend hearing from accomplished speakers and connecting with countless people who also believe in YAF’s mission. Overall, I am incredibly blessed that I had the chance to attend this conference with the help of the Beta Sole Foundation and I look forward to attending more YAF events in the future.”

"Swing Into STEM" Golf Tournament

The Beta Sole Foundation recently hosted the "Swing Into STEM" Golf Tournament Fundraiser at the beautiful Firefly Golf Links in Clare, MI. We would like thank to the generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and outgoing community members who made the event possible! All proceeds will go towards implementing STEM education in rural Michigan school districts!

Baseball and Beta Sole

Beginning in 2019, Beta Sole has combined fun and education at a MILB Loons Baseball game. Middle and high school students from the Mid-Michigan community have a fun-filled day of sports and understanding the science behind the game.
